Referral service only

We are not a heating contractor, mechanical contractor, HVAC technician, engineer, inspector, insurer, utility, or representative of any contractor. We do not install, replace, service, or inspect furnaces, diagnose equipment, prepare estimates, pull permits, or guarantee the work, availability, pricing, licensing, insurance, or results of any referred contractor.

Contractors we refer are insured to the best of our referral information, but you must verify current insurance, business identity, local licensing, permit responsibility, references, and written scope before hiring.

Licensing in Colorado — what to verify

This section exists because the licensing situation in this trade is widely misunderstood, and knowing it protects you.

Colorado does not issue a statewide HVAC or mechanical contractor license. The Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies licenses electricians, plumbers, and radon professionals. Heating and air conditioning contractors are not licensed at the state level.

Licensing happens locally. The City and County of Denver licenses mechanical contractors, which requires the business to hold or employ someone with a supervisor certificate obtained by examination. Other municipalities in the metro have their own requirements.

A furnace replacement requires a mechanical permit, pulled by the contractor, followed by an inspection. That inspection is the only independent verification that the gas connection and venting were performed correctly.

Because "licensed and insured" is a weaker statement in this trade than it sounds, we suggest asking any contractor — referred by us or found elsewhere — for their local mechanical contractor license number, a current certificate of insurance, and written confirmation that the permit is included in the quoted price. Do not treat this website as proof of any contractor's compliance.

Estimates and equipment

A contractor's estimate is the contractor's responsibility. Ask what capacity was calculated and how, whether the ductwork was evaluated, what is and is not included, and what warranty applies to labor as distinct from manufacturer parts coverage. A referral does not mean your furnace needs replacing.

Price ranges published on this site are general planning information gathered from published market sources at the time of writing. They are not quotes, offers, or guarantees, and your actual price depends on your home, your equipment, and your contractor.

Rebates, tax credits, and regulations

Information published here about Xcel Energy rebate amounts, federal tax credits, Colorado's low-NOx appliance standard under HB23-1161, and local permit requirements is general information believed accurate at the time of writing.

These change. Rebate amounts are reduced or discontinued, eligibility rules are revised, and regulations are amended. Verify current amounts and requirements with Xcel Energy, the relevant taxing authority, or your local building department before making a purchase decision. We are not affiliated with Xcel Energy or any government agency, and nothing here is tax, legal, or engineering advice.

Consent to contact

By submitting the form or calling, you agree that we may share your contact details and the information you provide with one independent local heating professional so they can contact you about your request, by phone, text, or email. You may ask us or the contractor to stop contacting you at any time.

Independent contractors

Any contractor you are connected with is an independent business. They are not our employee, agent, partner, or joint venturer. We do not supervise, direct, or control their work, scheduling, pricing, or personnel. Your agreement for any work is between you and that contractor.

No warranty

This website is provided as is. We do not warrant that the information here is complete, current, or error-free, and we do not warrant any contractor's work. Any warranty on equipment or labor comes from the manufacturer or the contractor, not from us.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Furnace Installation Denver is not liable for a contractor's acts, omissions, delays, pricing, communications, workmanship, or disputes, and our total liability arising from your use of this site is limited to one hundred dollars. Questions about a contractor's work should be directed to that contractor.

Not safety advice

Content on this site about carbon monoxide, gas smells, cracked heat exchangers, and space heater use is general homeowner information, not a safety inspection or professional advice. If you suspect a gas leak, leave the building and call your gas utility's emergency line from outside. If a carbon monoxide alarm is sounding, leave the building first. When in doubt, treat it as an emergency and get qualified help.

Directory listings

Our contractor directory lists businesses using facts published on each company's own website as of the date noted on that page. Listings are alphabetical, carry no ratings or rankings, and are not endorsements. We receive no payment for inclusion. Information may become outdated; verify anything material directly with the business. If you own a listed business and something is inaccurate, or you would prefer not to be listed, contact us and we will correct or remove it.

Acceptable use

Do not use this site to submit false information, another person's details without their permission, automated bulk submissions, or anything unlawful. We may decline or discontinue service at our discretion.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
